The Last Stranding is a cinematic ambient ballad that reimagines the character of Higgs Monaghan, not as a villain, but as a forgotten soul - exiled for thousands of years on a Beach where time flows differently. Once a porter, once a man who believed in love, Higgs was seduced by the truth of extinction and betrayed by the one who chose someone else. His descent was not madness. It was heartbreak.

This track, written and performed by Lyra Novaela, carries the voice of that sorrow. Told from the perspective of an entity left behind, the song reflects the quiet grief of being abandoned, the desperate longing to be chosen, and the fading memory of a world that moved on without you.

Built with soft fingerpicked guitar, reverb-drenched piano, cinematic textures, cello, and ghost-like vocal swells, the song slowly unfolds into a powerful electric guitar solo before ending in a poetic, devastating outro.
