At a tense UN Security Council meeting, Spain delivered a powerful address condemning the humanitarian catastrophe unfolding in Gaza. Spanish Ambassador Cristina Gallach declared, "Violence will never resolve this conflict. Peace will only come through political solutions."

Citing over 57,600 Palestinian deaths, widespread famine, and the collapse of health infrastructure, Spain accused Israel of enforcing a blockade that is “inhumane and unacceptable.” Madrid also urged world powers to recognize Palestine as a state, calling it a “prerequisite for durable peace.”

Spain reaffirmed its commitment to humanitarian aid and its support for UNRWA, stating that “1000 people have died while waiting for aid trucks that were never allowed to cross.”

The speech marked one of the strongest condemnations of Israel’s actions by a European nation at the UN. Spain reiterated the urgent need for a permanent ceasefire, the release of hostages, and full humanitarian access to Gaza.

📌 “It is not possible to remain indifferent when children are dying of hunger. Gaza has become unlivable.”
