The manmade famine in Gaza has reached catastrophic levels. 85 percent of Palestinians in Gaza have entered the fifth and final stage of malnutrition. Hundreds of Palestinians have already died of starvation and malnutrition. Hundreds of thousands more will soon die if swift action is not taken to end Israel’s siege.

I am fasting on July 24 as one of thousands of people who are taking collective action to stand with Gaza. Food and water are intentionally denied to starve Palestinians in Gaza under Israel’s siege.

I am joining in the chorus of voices around the world calling for sanctions against Israel to end this nightmare. The complicity of the U.S. and Western powers must end.
