Backstory to the Rights to this Game
Back around 2001 EA Games almost went under & around the Same time the Rights to the Dune Franchise was owned by Dino De Laurentiis who sold the Rights to Sci Fi Channel (Sci Fi made 2 Dune Movies) so when EA got their shit together & fixed their Company the Rights to make Dune Games were lost
for more than a decade. When Sci Fi sold the Rights once again to Legendary Entertainment it opened a chance to make more Dune Games. At this time several people reached out to the family of Dino De Laurentiis to But the Rights to Emperor Battle for Dune because they still owned the rights to the lost EA Game. They Denied each attempt to Purchase the Rights to allow a Re Release
or a Sequel. So the Game is literally Abandon Ware.
I own 2 Physical Copies of the Original Game, it was made for Windows XP but would also Run on Windows 7 just fine. But Windows 10 it used to be very hard to get to work right. Windows 10 does not like CD Roms which the original Game was on 4 CD Roms. 1 Install Disc & 3 Play Discs.
So "nofunever" was able to Combine all 4 discs into One along with the Latest Game Patch, a Patch to allow the Game to run on Windows 10, a No CD Path & the Added Extra Downloadable Maps. All on one Disc.
The Prequel to this Game Dune 2000 was also decent but it had the same Graphics Style as the Original Command & Conquer games & was not 3D.
It also had FMV Movies with Actors & a Plot based on the Dune 1984 Movie.
The Ending of Dune 2000 spins off to start Emperor Battle for Dune.
