Nearly nine months after Bashar al-Assad was overthrown in Syria, more than two million displaced Syrians have returned home.
They now face widespread destruction, hunger and a historic drought -- with millions relying on aid.
The new government faces significant challenges in fostering recovery, but many believe it’s already taken too long.
