What'd You Say? What?

Imagine you walked into a church service or meeting and it was conducted completely in German, but you don't speak a word of that language, or as Religious People would call it Tongue. How would you feel?

Wouldn't you be confused and not want anything to do with that church?

That is how most people from outside the Modern American Church feel when "Christians" talk to them or they visit one of our churches. They do not understand most of the words we use and it turns them off to God. (There are many other things about how we do "Church" in America that drive people away, but this is certainly near the top of the list.)

But it should not be that way. We have to follow Jesus' example and speak to everyone in a language, using words, that is easiest for them to understand. We do not do so because of Man's Traditions, what we have always done. This is something Jesus roundly condemned and cursed but we insist on doing so anyway. If we want to grow our churches and the Kingdom of God, then we must start using words and language that are in every day use by those we are sharing it with.
