CONFESSION: IT IS CHRIST’S DESIGN — NOT MAN’S INVENTION COME HOME TO THE FULLNESS OF HIS MERCYHave you ever wondered why Catholics confess their sins to a priest?
Is it just tradition — or something rooted in Scripture and the early Church?

Jesus said to His apostles:
“If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven…” (John 20:23)

St. James taught:
“Confess your sins to one another…” (James 5:16)
“Is anyone sick among you? Let him call the elders…” (James 5:14)

Early Christians practiced it.
Origen wrote:
“Confess your sins to the priest of the Church… open your conscience.” (Homilies on Leviticus 2:4)

St. Cyprian affirmed:
“Let each confess his sin while he is still in this world… before the day of judgment.” (The Lapsed, 28)

Confession is biblical. It is historical. It is apostolic.

In a broken world, God still offers healing — through the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

This is Christ’s design — not man’s invention.
Come home to the fullness of His mercy.
