Dëzmyra decides to flee from the village. She takes two of her friends, Ranya and Lanya, with her as they also want to leave. They trek the dangerous path of Narfagool's Cave to get to the other side of the Azèrvelt . They tread softly to avoid Narfagool, the giant worm-like creature. Ranya steps on a bone snapping it in half thus awakening the monster! Both her and Lanya are eaten alive! In fear, Dezmyra jumps in a burrow that leads to the light above. She has never been more afraid.
