# Tetris: The Grand Master 4 - Mechanical TSD

This video is a demonstration of the Mechanical T-Spin Double technique that I have started using the most in my high score Tetris runs. I am intentionally playing slower so that you can see how the stack is built. The specific game being played here is [TETRIS® THE GRAND MASTER 4 -ABSOLUTE EYE](https://store.steampowered.com/app/3328480/TETRIS_THE_GRAND_MASTER_4_ABSOLUTE_EYE/).

I have played many different versions of Tetris, but I think this game is special because it has the standard rules common to other Tetris games (hold piece, 7-bag distribution system, T-Spins), but it also has the TGM style mode, where there are no holds or T-Spins. In the TGM series, the blocks also seem more random, and they lock faster into their position. I will probably do videos of the Grandmaster mode in the future.

The title of Grand Master in a Tetris game strikes me as particularly interesting because the term is borrowed from the competitive Chess world. Considering that Tetris is my favorite video game while Chess is my favorite board game, this seems like a good title that resonates with Chess players.

TGM 4 is the first in the series to be released in America on PC. The others were released on arcade machines and only in Japan. I am glad the Tetris company is working to get these games to a modern audience who have never been able to play this style before.
