Woodside is a small busy neighborhood in northwest Queens of New York. Woodside is bounded next to Jackson Heights, Elmhurst, Astoria, Ditmars-Steinway, Sunnyside, and Maspeth.

This community used to have a large Irish population since the 1860s up to the 1950s. Woodside used to be called Newtown and it saw residential development growing in the 1860s for Irish families from Ireland. Between then and the 1930s, Woodside had the largest Irish population in Queens. The Irish used to make up 80% of the community and 20% were Italians and Central Europeans. It was once called "Irishtown" until a diverse demographic change occurred in the neighborhood between the 1960s to present day 2025. Woodside has changed its diverse residency of Hispanics/Latinos, Filipinos, Chinese, Italian Americans, Greek Americans, Indians, Thais etc. in recent years.

Roosevelt Avenue in Woodside became known as "Little Manila" having Filipino restaurants, businesses, and cultural events. That community is the largest Filipino enclave in New York City and one of the largest enclave of Filipinos in the New York metropolitan area, who migrated from the Philippines. Although, most of that street are Colombians, Mexicans, Ecuadorians, other Latinos, Chinese, of course Filipinos, Thais, Indians, Irish Americans, Italians, some Greeks etc. Young white urban professionals have recently moved to Woodside for affordable rent and locals claim that their neighborhood is gentrifying, because new urban residents moved in and the rent is rising up in new expenses. Woodside is not too far from Long Island City, Astoria, Sunnyside, and Manhattan, so that's how gentrification is slowly changing the area with shifting demographics.

Jollibee and Red Ribbon Bakeshop are the popular Filipino restaurant chains in Woodside you should check out. Jollibee is planning to open another location in Elmhurst pretty soon.
