What does "UE" Mean on a Front Load Washer?-Date: 7/4/2021

In this video I tell what it means and what to do if you see "UE" on your washer display.

"UE" stands for "Uneven" load. This means the washer wasn't able to find the proper balance for it to achieve a full spin and continued to be out of balance. This usually occurs during the final spin but can happen during any spin. If after a period of time the washer can't achieve a balanced load (No, I don't know how long it takes before this happens) during a spin cycle, the washer will stop until you try to fix the unbalanced load.

My suggestion to figure out how the load is unbalanced is to cancel the UE by pushing the play/pause button and starting the spin cycle again and wait for it to try and spin up and take note to where and how it is unbalanced. This will give you an idea of where it is too heavy. Then you can redistribute the heavy items in that area around to other parts of the drum to try and balance the load. Then restart the spin cycle and stay with and watch it until it spins itself up. You can let the washer try to balance the load itself in between attempts. You might have to repeat this process several times to achieve the proper balance. You can often solve the problem by observing how the drum moves and behaves when it's out of balance.

I'm guessing with most newer washers including top load washers possibly do this. Please refer to your owners manual for how your washer deals with an uneven/out of balance load.
