See my page for part 1 for other lower leg muscles to address. Internal rotation of the hip collapses the foot arch and that interferes with foot/ankle mechanics. Those wonky mechanics lead to issues in the foot like plantar fasciitis or up stream muscle issues like in the shin muscle (anterior tibialis). Opening your hips with glute stretches and distracting the change can help restore external rotation of the hip and fix the issue at the ankle thats causing shin splints- weirdly enough. Use a heavy band for these 2 and make sure there is a lot of tension on it to properly dsitract the joint. Don't do these if you have pain or previous injury/issue with you hip joints that this could affect.
