Trump’s EU trade deal: A win or a hidden tax on Americans?

On July 27, President Donald Trump reached a new trade agreement with the EU in Scotland.
Both sides agreed to set a 15% tariff on most goods they trade — from cars and pharmaceuticals to tech parts and food products. This deal replaces years of trade tensions, retaliatory tariffs, and threats of 30–50% taxes.
So on paper, it looks like a diplomatic success. But here's the catch. That 15% tariff is paid by importers, who almost always pass that cost down to everyday consumers. Meaning, you might not see it, but you're the one footing the bill.
