This song is a beautiful all-time classic from the 60s.

It was written by Hayward at nineteen years old when he was inspired by satin bedsheets a girlfriend had given him.

He explained that "it was a very emotional time" as he "was at the end of one big love affair and the start of another."

The album version of 'Nights in White Satin' included a spoken word poem on the end: "Late Lament." However, I felt the image I was trying to portray was more powerful with only the song. I apologize if this upsets anyone.

I was talking with my life long partner of 46 years. We were again making vows to one another. You’re stuck with me. Who else would want an old bag of bones.
