On July 27, 2025, Israel announced a daily 10-hour "tactical pause" in military operations in Gaza City, Deir al-Balah, and Al-Mawasi to facilitate humanitarian aid delivery amid a deepening famine crisis. The move, coordinated with the UN, included aid airdrops and secure corridors for food and medicine, with Jordan, the UAE, and Egypt contributing supplies. However, aid agencies and Palestinians expressed skepticism, noting that the limited aid—such as 70 trucks, many looted before reaching those in need—falls short of addressing the mass starvation affecting Gaza’s 2.2 million people.
