Dems Get Lowest Rating From Voters in 35 Years, Poll Finds

A new Wall Street Journal poll shows the Democratic Party’s image has sunk to its lowest point in over 30 years, with 63% of voters viewing it unfavorably.

Voters now trust Republicans more on nearly all major issues, including the economy, inflation, and immigration.

Despite disapproval of some of Donald Trump’s policies, Republicans still hold an advantage on those topics.

The only areas where Democrats lead are healthcare and vaccine policy.
Republicans have also overtaken Democrats in party identification for the first time in decades.

While Democrats hold a narrow early lead in the generic congressional ballot (46% to 43%), it’s smaller than their advantage at this point in 2017.

Trump’s approval rating is 46%—higher than at this stage in his first term, the Wall Street Journal has reported.

Democrats face financial disadvantages, with the GOP holding a significant fundraising edge.

While voter turnout and historical midterm trends may still favor Democrats, pollsters say Republicans are currently in a much stronger position than in 2017.
