Occam’s Razor Gardening, Cooking & Canning Ep 68

Welcome. Just another beautiful morning, 21C, humidity bringing on one of the last hot days before the early fall temperatures announced for later this week.

Vine boring critters made their way into one of the squash plants in the front. I’ve buried the vine to see if it springs new roots. Butch seems to be the first sunflower to flower.

The Morning Glories gave me a flower 3 days ago and then nothing since.

The squashes in the back continue to be targeted by egg laying beetles on the leaves. I’m trying to get them before they hatch but there’s a lot of leaves. I’m pretty sure I have a pumpkin growing in the squash box, so I’ve put a bench under it as it is up halfway the trellis.

The Zucchini have been giving me enough to can. I’m running out of 1L jars.

The potato box needs to be dug up. The inground potatoes are doing far better.

Those purple beans look interesting but they turn green when you cook them. Still waiting for more than a handful each day so I can start canning those too.
