How to Use the RODE Wireless Pro with 1/4" and XLR Inputs

How to use the RODE Wireless Pro with 1/4" or XLR Inputs for recording with an Audio Interface or for live use with a Mixer.

You can already use the RODE Wireless PRO connected to a camera, phone, or computer. Plus you can record directly to each mic pack in 32-bit Float.

But, there are times when using this wireless mic system with XLR or 1/4" inputs would be helpful.

I'll give you several solutions for recording a single transmitter (mic pack) to a Mono Track, and give you options for recording BOTH mics to individual Mono tracks so you can edit them later, or to use a different FX stack live.

The main two methods I recommend are:

RODE VXLR+ (or VXLR Pro) and 3.5mm TRS cable for a single Mono Track.

The RODE VXLR+ and Pro also convert 48v Phantom Power to 3-5v Plug-in Power. Since the RODE Wireless Pro Receiver detects Plug-in Power this can extend the life of the battery beyond the normal 7 hours. *Note that Plug-in Power does NOT charge the battery, it can just reduce battery usage. You do not need to use 48v Phantom Power for this method to work.

or

3.5mm TRS to Dual 1/4" TS cable for two Mono Tacks.

You can also use a Dual XLR cable splitter, but there is a chance that if someone turned on Phantom Power it could possibly damage the Receiver.
