Immediate, Unconditional, And A Little Bit Of Trump: Thailand & Cambodia Announce Ceasefire

An agreement was reached between Thailand and Cambodia for an "immediate and unconditional" ceasefire to halt deadly border clashes. Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim mediated talks between Thailand's acting Prime Minister Phumtham Wechayachai and Cambodia's Prime Minister Hun Manet. The ceasefire was scheduled to take effect at midnight (1200 GMT) on July 28. Despite the ongoing talks, reports indicated that fighting persisted, with both nations accusing the other of military build-ups and continued attacks. The conflict has tragically resulted in at least 35 fatalities and displaced more than 270,000 individuals. Both US President Donald Trump and the Chinese leadership had also engaged in efforts to facilitate a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
