Define the Third World 🇺🇸 🇳🇮

People like to banter about the term third world as if being neutral in a highly polarized political world is anything but a good thing. Or do they use this old political term to mean... what exactly? Do the countries we associated with the first world really have a major quality of life advantage on the ones we conveniently label third world? How should we be defining these terms in a modern context?
