Left 4 Dead: No Mercy - The Apartments (Chapter 1 Playthrough)

The Apartments is the thrilling first chapter of the iconic "No Mercy" campaign in Left 4 Dead. It kicks off right after the opening cinematic, dropping our four survivors onto the rooftop of an apartment block on Holly Street.

Their mission starts with a beacon of hope: News Chopper 5 flies by, announcing that survivors should head to Mercy Hospital for rescue. Bill quickly points out that taking the subway is their best bet to avoid the hordes below.

Players grab initial supplies like Tier 1 weapons, ammo, and first aid kits (with melee weapons added in the Left 4 Dead 2 version) from a nearby table. From there, it's a desperate descent through the infected-infested apartments, using stairs or even breaking through a skylight. In the L4D2 version, get ready to encounter various Special Infected lurking in the building's tight spaces. You can also find grenades, pills, and limited melee weapons in side rooms.

Once you hit street level, you'll exit into an alley leading to Holly Street. Watch out for car alarms – they'll attract a horde if triggered! You have three routes to reach the Holly Street Subway Station: follow the main street, cut through an office building for extra pills, or take a longer, darker path through some warehouses.

Your objective is clear: make it to the subway entrance. Descend the stairs, and you'll find the safe room just around the corner, bringing a momentary reprieve from the apocalypse.
