The recognition of a Palestinian state

“It's time to call this what it is, a dangerous, unjust, and immoral proposal that places diplomatic illusions above human lives. It teaches the world that the shortest path to statehood is through rockets, riots, and bloodshed. Israel has the right and the duty to defend itself. It does not owe the world an apology for doing so. What it certainly does not owe is acquiescence to the birth of yet another terrorist state on its doorstep. The international community must draw a line. No Palestinian state should be recognized until terrorism is rejected. Israel's right to exist is affirmed, and a generation of children is raised not on hatred, but on hope. Until that day, calls for Palestinian statehood are not acts of peace. They are acts of betrayal. It's time we stop pretending. It's complicated. It's not. You don't reward evil for evil. You don't negotiate with murder. And you don't hand statehood to those who openly celebrate the slaughter of innocents. Not now, not ever.”
