10. Rain and the Strome I Bring, History

Rain and the Storm I Bring is the 10th song from Spells and Spirits, composed in 2005. Rain and the Storm I Bring was inspired by my first dog Brandy and my first cat Rain. The story it tells is true to every word. Brandy was a good loyal friend. She was a golden retriever, a German Shepherd mix. She also had a mohawk on her head.
She got colon cancer. My family let me make the choice. Rather than see her go through the pain. I decided to put her down.
My father and I took her to the vet where I was left alone with her after the injection was given. Brandy died in my arms. My world fell apart for a while, life moved on.
A few years later a friend and I were walking and talking up a dirt road near to where I lived. It was one of those days where the sky was getting ready for a storm. You could feel the ionised energy.
I heard a kitten mewing about 100 feet from where I buried Brandy. I parted some branches and saw the cutest gray and orange kitten with white highlights and a Harry Potter lightning scar on her forehead. Just below her own mohawk,
It was reincarnation. I opened up my arms and told her it was up to her. She looked both ways then jumped into my arms. It felt as if we had always known each other. She knew that she could trust me to take care of her.
I asked her what her name should be. The first drop of rain touched her tattooed forehead and she mewed. Hence she was dubbed Rain Strome.
She and I were together for 16 years. Until she also got cancer. She also died in my arms. I buried her in the words near to where I buried Brandy.
Musically this song is made up of five different verses, no chorus, and an outro. All fingerpicked and played at a steady tempo.
Lyrically I hope it conveys the value of these companions that were a valued part of my life. I want to thank them for choosing me.

Note, Sadly I have lost all pictures and videos of both Brandy and Rain. These videos showcase other animals.
Two of which are, Dragon, a Flemish Giant Rabbit who liked to attack other people. Total Monty Python and have inappropriate sex with women's purses, shoes and feet.
The main star of these videos is Magic. He is a Cane Corso Pitbull mix and is my son. Due to unfortunate circumstances he is no longer in my life. I miss you my son. I love you Magic. I am so sorry that I could not save you. I tried, I honestly tried to keep you safe, happy, healthy and loved.
I thank all the many friends that I have had the privilege of making with from the animal kingdom. In many ways you are more honest homosapiens. I am honored to be welcomed among you.
