Why One Mistake Shouldn’t Be Your Focus

In marriage, it’s easy to become fixated on the one thing they did wrong—
The comment.
The misstep.
The moment that hurt.

But when that one mistake becomes the lens you view your spouse through, forgiveness gets replaced by resentment… and connection slowly erodes.

It goes both ways.
Maybe you’re the one being reminded—over and over—of a mistake you’ve already owned and apologized for.

Here’s a better way:
Instead of keeping score of the wrong, start keeping record of the right.
Literally.

Write down the moments when they show up.
When they choose you.
When they speak kindly or serve quietly.

Because forgiveness doesn’t erase boundaries.
But it does invite balance.
