#46 Bec Holdsworth

Bec Holdsworth works at One New Zealand in the role of Head of Privacy and Responsible AI. One NZ has a stated mission of becoming “the most AI-enabled telco on the planet” and is at the forefront of AI adoption within New Zealand. AI adoption relies on trust, so One NZ commissioned research to understand how New Zealanders perceive AI and has shared these findings with businesses across New Zealand.

Bec has lead the One NZ Responsible AI programme since its inception in early 2024 and has been responsible for Privacy at One NZ since 2017. Her accountabilities continue to include Disclosures to government agencies and Lawful Interception operations, and she has also been accountable for fraud, enterprise risk and data governance throughout her career at One NZ.
Bec has a varied background working across many industries (telco, aviation, gaming, hospitality) and role families (HR, Operations, Analytical) which has been good grounding for thinking broadly about AI risks. Bec holds graduate and post-graduate qualifications from the University of New South Wales (Sydney, Australia) in Commerce and Aviation.
