The sanctuary cities

The sanctuary cities were shelters for those who fled prosecution and death during Old Testament time. They are a remarkable image of what Christ is for every man. By sin we are doomed to the punishment of God, but if we accept Jesus as our Savior, then we are definitely safe from harm and judgment. Paul writes in Romans 8: 1, "There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus."
