The devil will send people into your life who drain you in endless cycles of counsel and consolation, but never grow—because they reject correction, justify themselves, or blame others. When that happens—whether it’s an employee, an in-law, or even a child—the only way forward is to create consequences, because some people won’t learn by wisdom, they only learn by experience. Proverbs calls these “the reproofs of life,” and I’d rather let God prune me through His Word than through painful circumstances.
