For the past 5-plus years, progressive-leaning people have tended to hate edgy jokes, calling them bigoted or insensitive, while more right-leaning people have rallied around "bringing back comedy!" and decrying old guard 2000's era comedians like Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart, for losing their edge and preaching to their audiences. And now that The Late Show under Colbert has been cancelled, a lot of MAGA-type people are laughing at his downfall. But does this mean that COMEDY IS RIGHT WING? lol, no.
