Pocahontas down!

Senator Elizabeth "Pocahontas" Warren, a Democrat from Massachusetts, suffered an unexpected fall on the Senate floor this Wednesday during a vote.

Footage captured the moment Warren attempted to sit on a desk but lost her balance, tipping it over and falling backward to the floor.

In a rare display of bipartisanship, several Republican senators — including Ted Cruz of Texas and Susan Collins of Maine — immediately rushed to help her. Cruz offered his hand, and Warren was able to stand up.

Other Republican senators, such as Rand Paul of Kentucky and John Barrasso of Wyoming, also approached to offer assistance.

The incident occurred as the Senate was voting on two resolutions aimed at blocking U.S. arms sales to Israel — resolutions that Warren supported. The proposals were introduced by Senator Bernie Sanders, an independent from Vermont and a strong critic of Israel’s military operations in Gaza.

All Republican senators voted against the measures. The incident is reminiscent of a series of stumbles experienced by former President Joe Biden during his term, including a fall in 2023 at the U.S. Air Force Academy commencement ceremony.
