A musical animated short from Paul Terry’s Aesop’s Fables series, Barnyard Melody features a farm full of anthropomorphic animals who come together for a lively song-and-dance revue filled with slapstick gags, musical instruments made from farm tools, and synchronized antics in classic 1920s rubber-hose animation style.

Synopsis:

The cartoon opens on a peaceful farm where animals go about their daily chores—until the rooster calls for a musical jamboree. Suddenly, the barn becomes a makeshift stage, and every animal joins in: pigs play tubas made from barrels, cows dance on hay bales, and chickens tap-dance in formation.

Chaos and harmony blend as animals perform goofy, rhythmic gags with exaggerated, bouncy movements. A grumpy farmer tries to restore order but ends up becoming part of the show. The short ends with a big musical finale, a barn-wide laugh, and a cheeky moral punchline.
