KUDLOW: “I know you tried so hard and we appreciate your effort to come on, Howard. Honestly, you are a mensch. You are a complete mensch and I’m most grateful. I want to say that on the air. Before we get to the trade stuff, I just want to ask you, look, we have this Mamdani socialist character running for mayor and I am worried, and I want to get your take, you’re a longtime New York resident, deeply involved in the financial markets. New York is center of the world capital markets. Are you worried? Is the administration worried that this Mamdani character, socialist, whatever, is going to wreck the fact that New York and the U.S. is the center of the world financial markets, as well as the economy?”

LUTNICK: “Look, the people of New York have to get off their couch and get out there and vote. You know, voting and elections have consequences. If they all sit on their couches and everybody in New York doesn’t vote, then that’s what they’ll get. They’ll get a communist. And, fortunately, you know, you have Donald Trump in the White House, where he’s not going to give this guy any money. And I don’t know who the governor will be, but hopefully they won’t give this guy any money. But these people in New York had better get off their butts and get out there and vote, make sure this communist doesn’t run New York City.”

KUDLOW: “All right. Well said, Howard Lutnick. Well said, Mr. Secretary, we appreciate that very much.”
