Driver Rolls Vehicle, Alcohol Suspected, GOODRICH, August 1, 2025 - At approximately 10:20 am on August 1, 2025, the driver of an older model white Chevy Blazer was east-bound on FM-1988 East when she left the pavement to the left, overcorrected right, lost control, and rolled her vehicle. Her vehicle came to rest upside down completely blocking the east-bound lane of 1988. According to witnesses at the scene, she crawled out of her upside down vehicle and attempted to discard her beer into the woods. Witnesses who spoke with her said she smelled of alcohol and appeared intoxicated. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Deputy John Walker with The Polk County Sheriff's Office, and Trooper Sean Barnes with The Texas Highway Patrol. The driver (her name not yet released) was transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital as a precautionary measure.
