Several years after his last adventure, retired fortune hunter Nathan Drake, is forced back into the world of thieves. Fate comes calling when Sam, Drake’s presumed dead brother, resurfaces seeking his help to save his own life and offering an adventure Drake can’t resist. In this playthrough we cover:

Prologue:
The game opens in medias res with Nathan Drake and his older brother Sam in a high-speed boat chase during a storm. Dodging enemy boats and crashing waves, the two head toward a mysterious island in pursuit of something valuable. This adrenaline-fueled sequence sets the tone for the game’s blend of cinematic storytelling and action-heavy gameplay.

Chapter 01: The Lure of Adventure:
In a flashback, a young Nathan Drake escapes from a Catholic orphanage and sneaks off to reunite with his older brother Sam. The two climb rooftops and fences to reach Sam’s stolen motorcycle, giving players a glimpse into their rebellious childhood bond. The section introduces light platforming mechanics and sets the foundation for the deep brotherly connection at the heart of the story.

Chapter 02: Infernal Place:
In the present day, adult Nate is imprisoned in a Panamanian jail, but the situation is part of an undercover deal to find a clue linked to pirate captain Henry Avery. Partnered with Rafe Adler and prison guard Vargas, Nate explores a crumbling tower and uncovers a cross bearing Avery’s sigil. Tension builds as greed and mistrust boil over, resulting in a deadly confrontation that forces Nate and Sam to make a dramatic escape—only for Sam to be seemingly shot and left behind.

Chapter 03: The Malaysia Job:
Back in the present, Nate is now working for Jameson Marine, salvaging wrecks off the coast. Underwater gameplay is introduced as Nate searches a sunken cargo trailer for copper wire. Though the job appears mundane, it’s clear that Nate is suppressing his thirst for adventure—until Jameson tempts him with an illegal Malaysian salvage opportunity, which Nate initially declines.

Chapter 04: A Normal Life:
Players explore Nate's quiet life at home with Elena, showcasing his shift to a low-key, domestic routine. The chapter is slower and more introspective, featuring environmental storytelling and light interactions, including a playful shooting minigame in the attic with a toy gun. This moment emphasizes how far Nate has tried to move on from his old life—but the past isn’t done with him yet.

Chapter 05: Hector Alcazar:
A surprise flashback reveals that Sam survived the prison shootout and escaped years later with the help of ruthless drug lord Hector Alcazar. Alcazar demands that Sam repay the favor by finding Henry Avery’s treasure, launching a violent prison riot as their escape route. This chapter reintroduces Sam into Nate’s life and sets the stakes: Sam believes they only have a few months before Alcazar comes to collect.

Chapter 06: Once a Thief:
Sam convinces Nate to join him on one last hunt: infiltrating a black-market auction in Italy to steal a second Avery cross. Reuniting with old ally Victor "Sully" Sullivan, the trio sneaks through the extravagant Rossi Estate, evading guards, disabling power, and plotting the heist. Players experience stealth gameplay, light puzzles, and cinematic cutscenes as they prepare for a daring theft that draws them deeper into Avery’s legacy.
