Filming Dates: Monday July 28th to Tuesday July 29th, 2025

I completed the walking tour of the whole Rockaways Peninsula in Southeast Queens, New York for this video. I filmed Rockaway Beach last year and you guys liked it! I filmed Rockaway Beach again for part 2 this year to film the backstreet communities of the Rockaways, such as Arverne, Edgemere, Far Rockaway, and Bayswater. Of course, I started filming in Belle Harbor and Rockaway Beach Park in this video, like part 1. Taking a look at Arverne, Edgemere, and Far Rockaway became different experiences than Belle Harbor and Neponsit. A totally different view from nice houses, restaurants, Rockaway Beach to lower class project buildings and apartments known to be hoods, a Caribbean population, a Jewish population, Latino residents, and a remaining number of Italians in the east side.

The Rockaway Hoods are bounded in Rockaway Beach Boulevard from the Rockaway Beach projects, Arverne, Edgemere, and Far Rockaway. Bayswater is another enclave with a Jewish-majority community living there, along with Hispanics/Latinos, Jamaicans, Italian-Americans, some Haitians, Puerto Ricans, Dominicans etc. Compared to Belle Harbor, Bayswater has two public parks that look nice and beautiful with many trees, bushes, and park sites surrounding the area.

Earlier this week was pretty hot. Monday July 28th was 96 F, and Tuesday July 29th was up to 100 F (or maybe between 98 to 100 degrees). I was sweating for most of the time. Although, I brought iced water to stay hydrated and a small towel to wipe off sweat on my face, neck, and arms.

I was also close to Long Island, such as being near Inwood, Lawrence, Cedarhurst, and Atlantic Beach. For the project areas, I decided to film at the Rockaway Beach boardwalk for the remaining time when it wasn't too busy during a hot morning.
