They Don’t Make These Brackets Anymore – So I Printed One (Hunter Douglas Luminette)

These are Hunter Douglas Luminette shades—about 10 years old—and the mounting brackets that hold them up? Completely broken.

I got called by a resident to reinstall them after they fell overnight, but when I saw the damage, I realized the original clips were toast—and worse, they’re discontinued. The factory bracket that holds the rail in place is no longer available.

I took the broken piece home, modeled a replacement in SolidWorks, and 3D printed a functional clip using my Bambu Labs printer. It’s not fancy—but it works. And it saved the customer hundreds of dollars in replacement shades and install labor.

If you’re working with older Hunter Douglas systems—especially the Luminette series—this might help.
