The Light on the Hill

Once upon a time in a small village surrounded by mountains, there lived a humble man named Arjun. He had lost his parents early in life, had no wealth, and barely earned enough to survive. Yet, he was known in the village as the man with a smile — always helping others, feeding stray animals, and offering a kind word to anyone who needed it.

One day, a massive storm struck the village. Crops were destroyed, homes were flooded, and many villagers lost hope. People cried, cursed fate, and waited for help. But Arjun? He picked up a shovel and started cleaning the mud from his neighbor's house.

A young boy watched and asked, “Why do you work so hard when no one helps you? You have nothing, yet you give everything.”

Arjun smiled and said,
“I may have nothing in hand, but I have faith in my heart. God is always with those who do good. I can’t stop the storm, but I can be a light in the darkness.”

Word spread, and slowly others began to join him. The village, once filled with despair, started to rebuild itself — not with money, but with unity, kindness, and hope.

Years later, when Arjun passed away, the villagers built a small temple on the hill where he used to sit and pray. On the temple’s wall, they engraved his words:

“Never lose hope — God walks with those who walk the path of goodness.”
