Friends keep asking why I'm acting so brand new
Only explanation is I'm crazy over you

Morning coffee tastes better when you're sitting next to me
Every conversation flowing so naturally
Used to be afraid of showing what's inside my soul
Now I'm open like a book, you can read me as a whole
Got me canceling my plans just to spend time on the phone
Never thought I'd be the girl who'd rather stay at home
But with you the simple moments feel like magic in the air
Can't believe that someone like you actually could care

People always told me love would make me lose my mind
Now I understand exactly what they meant to find
Not the crazy that will tear your whole world apart
But the kind that makes you want to give away your heart
Got me thinking about futures that I never used to see
Picturing adventures, just you standing next to me
Never was the type to plan ahead or make a wish
Now I'm hoping that forever starts exactly like this

Like the sun came out to chase away the winter's gloom
Every joke you tell me has me laughing till I cry
Every moment that we share just makes me feel alive
Used to think that independence was the only way
Now I'm learning how to let somebody in and stay
Not about losing who I am or changing what I do
Just about becoming better when I'm here with you

Confidence is flowing through my veins like liquid fire
You believe in me in ways that lift my spirit higher
Never had somebody see the best in who I am
Making me feel powerful like I can change the plan
Got me walking taller, talking louder than before
Like you opened up inside my chest a brand new door
All the dreams I used to keep locked up inside my head
Now I'm brave enough to chase them, no more living scared

Intensity of feeling like I never knew existed
Every touch electric, got my heartbeat so twisted
But it's twisted in the way that makes me want to dance
Like I won won the lottery without taking a chance
Colors looking brighter since you came into my life
Cutting through my darkness like a perfectly sharp knife
Not to hurt me but to set all of my feelings free
Never knew that being vulnerable could make me feel this strong, you see

This emotion got me writing poetry at night

Never been religious but I'm praying that you stay
Hoping that these feelings never ever fade away
Got me believing in the magic of connection
Looking in the mirror with a new kind of reflection
Still the same person but with fire in my eyes
