Two different eras of intel laptops

On the left is my wife's computer and on the right is my computer, windows 11 has a lot going on in the background compared to Linux mint and so much so that you can see it on your desktop with the green check marks for each desktop icon. That's Microsoft rooting around in your system scanning it to push you to use one drive. I don't like the fact they do this but you are unable to disable this.
Linux mint has fewer system processes and screams like a formula 1 race car on my wife's laptop. On mine it moves a long more like a Toyota corolla.
