He used to smile at sunsets and could trust other people,
Naively believing, once upon a time, that his soul couldn't be crucified.
He walked around with an open soul, not hiding from the bitter drafts,
To him, feelings were dearer than spotlights, and deeds more convincing than words.

But the world turned out to be cruel; for his sincerity, he paid with pain,
And in scars so deep, so deep, he buried his faith away.

His eyes had lost their former shine, but a ray of light still warmed his heart,

And straightening his back again, though the knife was still hidden there,

The words that sounded so sweet, but were poisoned with lies.
Now in his life, there are new rules: not to trust and not to be himself.
