A Subway restaurant manager named James Anthony Morris Jr., 33, was arrested on July 21, 2025, in Jacksonville, Florida, on a charge of false imprisonment of a child under 13. Police allege he grabbed and locked a 10‑year‑old girl in a back room for about two minutes after she walked on a freshly mopped floor, whereupon her mother asked her to apologize.
According to authorities, the child believed she was being kidnapped, saying the manager tightened his grip and insulted her parents. Another employee witnessed the incident and described the manager’s behavior as “weird.”

Morris was released on $5,000 bond and is scheduled for a court appearance on August 13, 2025.
