Notice the muted tone in the voices and demure affections of the emotions.

This is purposeful, as the words and melody are meant to bring emotions in the hearts and minds of the ones hearing.

The song would have been punctuated with shouts of Glory to God! And Praise Be To Jesus.

It was among the parishioners where emotional responses were to be felt.
As the old time Christians used to say. “Old Time Religion is better felt than tell’t!”

We have a experiential spiritual religion. We experience our spiritual relationship with Jesus.

Maybe like Hulk Hogan. I still have my emotions thrilled when I think of the place where I first knelt to ask Jesus to enter into my life stream.
