GIGOT: “Joined me now to make sense of adult wall it all wall journal columnist Kim Strassel and Joe sternberg. Before we could get to the Fed what do you make of this jobless report? The jobs report? Not very good in July. Huge revision in may and June that suggests very little job growth over the last three months.”

STRASSEL: “Correct huge revisions. That is the thing I think is going to alarm people when you have a one month of poor job numbers, it is of concern. But when you have three continuous once this is going to some people worried we might be headed into a recession. You look more deeply into these numbers and I think there is some real questions about how they line up with what Donald Trump is claimed as his agenda in particular with tariffs. For instance one of the areas we saw job cuts was in the manufacturing area. Supposedly the whole idea for the tariffs is supposed to beat reviving American manufacturing. My view of this is you do not necessary see companies laying off people yet. But they are not wanting to hire that’s all a function of the uncertainty we are seeing from that tariff a regime. We are going to have to see where this goes. We are in a weight wait-and-see now.”
