A comment on Taylor Lorenz's political views. I do not support emphasising the meme of assassinating the US president. It is not something I condone.

Trump has faults. Most of them are cosmetic. Covid was primarily a power grab by the international socialists, implemented by exaggerating the dangers of the pandemic.

One should note that Trump was the first one to suggest locking down the US borders to isolate people from Covid. Yet he was criticised for it by the US Democrat party.

Unfortunately, Trump uses misdirection, and this breeds distrust among voters. Taylor is correct that the US is corrupt. The US military starts wars, and controls much of the US media, and uses propaganda.
Trump is not perfect, but he represents a properly elected president. The democrat party however rigs the selection of their presidential election candidate, and is almost exclusively controlled by the US military and weapons manufacturing businesses. A lot of the Republican party are also.
If you want to point the finger somewhere, look at Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Ratheon and the pharmaceutical manufacturers. Also look at the European International socialists.
To a certain extent I agree with Taylor, more social welfare, less spending on weapons, and more on diplomacy could be beneficial for the US, and a lot of other countries. But social welfare can be taken too far, and become theft and soviet style communist despotism. Absolute power for a man or a country to be a God, does not actually help the US, or anyone else. Victory can not be achieved through military strength alone. Having everyone afraid of you, isn't victory. Having everyone friends with you, is better. But ultimately, for the US, and every other country, safety comes from God, "In God we trust." And the God referred to is the God referred to by Abraham Lincoln.
