Title: In the World, Against the World
Text: John 17:14–16

In this portion of the High Priestly Prayer, Jesus names the enemies of the Church: the world and the devil. He doesn’t pray for our escape, but for our endurance. In this sermon, we explore the reality of spiritual conflict, the Christian’s identity as “not of the world,” and the preserving power of God in hostile territory. Christ’s people are set apart, not to withdraw, but to engage the world with truth, holiness, and courage. Here, we learn what it means to live faithfully as exiles, sanctified and sustained by the Word.
