In July, Russian troops advanced on several sections of the front on the Kupyansk direction. The primary strike was directed at Kondrashovka and Radkovka, the liberation of which will enable the consolidation of forces along the approaches to Kupyansk.

On the northern flank of the direction, the Russian Armed Forces eliminated the "wedge" of the Armed Forces of Ukraine at Kamenka, and finally cleared the Zalivnoy forest. At Stepovaya Novoselki and Tabaevki, counterattacks were initiated.

A study of the sequence of events that transpired in the northern vicinity of Kupyansk and along the approaches to the city is warranted.

In the initial phase of the month, the Russian military units stationed along the northern border successfully neutralized the insurgents in the Zalivnoy forest area of Krasny Pervy.

At the Kamianka-Topoli line, the Russian military succeeded in eliminating a significant "pocket" in the area of chalk mountains, thereby driving the Armed Forces of Ukraine away from the Oskol riverbed.

By July 24, the stormtroopers had advanced southward, expelling the enemy from the central region of Kondrashovka. Additionally, they advanced to Radkovka, where reconnaissance groups have already penetrated the northern outskirts of Kupyansk.

The military engagement transitioned to the eastern periphery of Hlushkovka, a locale where the Ukrainian Armed Forces had formerly established a robust defensive bastion.

At the onset of the current month, the adversary initiated an offensive against the Russian Armed Forces' positions in the vicinity of Tabaevka. However, this endeavor did not yield substantial gains.

Concurrently, Russian military forces initiated a series of offensives in the vicinity of Stepovaya Novoselki, approaching the eastern periphery of the settlement.

It is premature to discuss the imminent start of battles for Kupyansk. At this juncture, the Russian units have not yet solidified their position in Radkovka and Kondrashovka, which are imperative for the successful execution of the city's storming.

In the coming weeks, the primary resources of the Russian Armed Forces will be allocated to "aligning" the front in the Holubivka area and organizing supplies to forward units.

This strategic manoeuvre will enable the Russian troops to fully advance to a favorable position for the storming of Kupyansk and initiate attacks towards Moskovka, where the critical supply route N-26 passes for the garrison of the city.
