Occam’s Razor Gardening, Cooking & Canning Ep 76

Welcome. I’ve been very fortunate with the health of the squash plants, but it takes 3 or 4 daily inspections of the leaves to keep them mostly beetle egg free. They’ve been fed regularly with banana water, basically 3 banana peals in a bucket left for 3 days and use that water. I have an ongoing bucket that I fill water cans with for use throughout the hard. So far, the crops seem far more responsive than last year, but not quite as much as the 4 years ago with the first growth in new soil. This tells me I need to spread the compost this fall.

The raised bed potatoes are being harvested. They’re not doing well, while the inground ones are doing fine so far.

I’ve finally started to harvest kale. Krispy kale, tossed in olive oil and seasoning, air fried at 357F until crispy, shake often, takes 10 or so minutes. Don’t overdo the salt. It went well with the front box zucchini, bbq’d for 5 min per side, oiled and seasoned, topped with parmesan & fried beans in garlic with soya sauce.

Butch is still the only sunflower flowering. And while there were a few morning glories yesterday, none bloomed today.
