Is the XD Mod 3 better than the Echelon?

Check out the newest version of the Springfield XD. The XD Mod3 is an updated version that comes optics ready and sold as the defender series which makes it very budget friendly. When they introduced the Echelon, I was sure the XD line up was cooked. Then at the beginning of this year Springfield dropped the new XD mod 3. I will say shooting them side by side the Echelon is still my favorite, but you can almost buy 2 of the XDs for the price of one Echelon. Also shooting them side by side there is no major reason to buy the Echelon over the XD except the feature set that the Echelon comes with. The XD truly is a great pistol. Definitely something you should check out if you ever get the chance to.
