Ford Recalls Vehicles Over Brake Failure Risk

Ford Motor Company has announced a safety recall affecting 312,120 vehicles in the United States due to a brake system defect that could increase crash risk, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The recall, designated NHTSA number 25V488, covers five 2025 model year vehicles: Ford F-150, Ford Bronco, Ford Expedition, Ford Ranger, and Lincoln Navigator, according to the official recall report filed July 25, 2025.
The Ford F-150 pickup truck accounts for the largest portion with 217,969 affected units, representing nearly 70 percent of all recalled vehicles.

The Ford Bronco follows with 39,913 vehicles, while 26,582 Ford Expedition SUVs are included. Additionally, 20,552 Ford Ranger pickups and 7,104 Lincoln Navigator luxury SUVs are subject to the recall.

Ford estimates approximately 1 percent of recalled vehicles actually contain the defective component.

The problematic Electronic Brake Booster (EBB) module may unexpectedly fail during driving, causing complete loss of power brake assistance until the vehicle is turned off and restarted. The malfunction can also occur when using Advanced Driver Assistance System features.
