Ephesians 3:14-21

Paul wanted the Ephesians and us to know the extravagance of God's love for us in Jesus Christ. Only God can help us to fathom the unfathomable. Paul bowed before the Father to petition Him on our behalf so that we could be filled up to all the fulness of God. A lofty request. As the sweet psalmist of Israel, King David, wrote in Psalm 139:6 "Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; It is too high, I cannot attain to it." Apart from God, we can never "comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge" (Ephesians 3:18-19).
