Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. talked about his country's ties with the US and President Donald Trump during an exclusive interview with Firstpost Managing Editor Palki Sharma. "I was explaining to President Trump, I said, if you are, you stop like a schoolchild in the street in the Philippines and ask them who is our best ally. They will say the United States," he said.
When asked if he believed Trump would support the Philippines in the event of a security threat, Marcos Jr. said, "Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah because the assurances that we have been receiving in those terms, you know, from, the new administration before I went there and when I went there and since, that visit, have been very, very strong."
